CT scans are utilized to examine various parts of the body and aid in diagnosing a wide range of conditions, including but not limited to:
Head and Brain: To detect injuries, tumors, or abnormalities in the brain.
Chest and Abdomen: To assess organs such as lungs, heart, liver, kidneys, and digestive system for conditions like cancers, infections, or structural issues.
Bones and Joints: To identify fractures, bone infections, arthritis, or other bone-related disorders.
Blood Vessels: For evaluating blood flow, detecting blockages, or aneurysms in blood vessels.
Preparation: Depending on the type of scan, you may be asked to refrain from eating or drinking for a few hours before the procedure. Our staff will provide specific instructions beforehand.
During the Scan: You will be positioned on a table that moves into the CT scanner. It’s important to remain still during the scan to ensure clear images. The scanner will rotate around the targeted area, capturing multiple X-ray images.
Post-Scan: Once the scan is completed, our radiographers will review the images for quality and accuracy. Your physician will receive the detailed report promptly for further evaluation and treatment planning.
